Update 17.02.06: After using two Windows VPS for 17 days, I have found out that Windows VPS are not the right plan for me. I have had much problems on both of my VPS. And Ihave a huge problem with only 384 MB of RAM, since I use Macromedia Dreamweaver to edit my sites on the server. I have now changed back to a dedicated server, and hope this will solve all my problems. I do not think Windows VPS with Plesk are a good solution. When I changed back to a dedicated server all my problems was gone within the first hour. And I'm now using a Celeron 2 Ghz at Godaddy.com....not the fastes server in the world.
Since I found out that I'm have no use for a dedicated server, I wanted to downgrade to a shared hosts or a VPS. So I desided that I will test out some VPS providers before I cancel my dedicated server. 29.01.06 I signup for an Windows 2003 VPS at godaddy.com and with DEHE.com. I got problems with both providers, and I got both VPS online and working 31.01.06
Will I go for one of the VPS from godaddy.com or DEHE, or do I have to find some other VPS provider? The next weeks will show.

After 12 hours I did send the first mail, no reply. After 24 hours I did send my second mail, no reply. I had to use their forum before I got reply. Then they told me that they was out of Plesk licences. |

I did get my VPS after one day, but they had not installed Plesk on the VPS. I sent a mail to support, and did get a reply back after 14 hours. When I first got a reply, we sent several mails with information. I got fast replies then. The best reply time was 20 minutes. The server was up and running with Plesk tuesday 31.01 19.23 GTM. |

I got over 14 hours downtime on my DEHE VPS. The first 6 hours they don't know what happent, the rest was a Virtuozzo service problem. I have had downtime both on my HTTP services and POP3/SMTP services.
I have to say that DEHE support are very fast and good. They replies very fast, and do not use long time to solve the problems.

I got problems with my mail services. All my outgoing mails was gone. After some research godaddy.com support gave me an new address who I had to type in to Mail Enable. That fixed all my problems.
Godaddy.com has improved their support. I got replies after 10-45 minutes now, and they do not use long time to fix the problems. But still, to much problems with a Windows VPS

I got some problems when I tried restoring my Plesk backup on their VPS. They had installed Plesk 7.5.6, so the problem was not a Plesk problem. I got lots of differents errors, and did not manage to restore my backup file.
After contacting the support / forum DEHE raised my RAM from 256 to 512 MB. After that I managed to restore my backup. So good work from the support at this problem. |

No problems after they installed Plesk. They installed Plesk 7.5.5 and I had no problem restoring my backup file. (on 1.7 GB) So the extra 100 MB of RAM was a good thing.
Another plus are the Powerpack, with SpamAssassin and Application pack. Both VPS have DrWeb Antivirus.
The server works fast. It's the same server specs as DEHE: Intel Xeon 3 Ghz
I get slow speeds when uploading and downloading files. Not a very good thing. |
